From 1983 to 2012, the Precinct 8 uniform and patrol car decals went largely unchanged. Except for a slight update to the car design in the 1980's, the look of Precinct 8 pretty much remained the same. In 2012, newly elected Constable Phil Sandlin implemented the new uniform and car designs that are in use today.
Through a committee made up of Precinct 8 employees, design ideas were submitted and voted upon to present to the Constable for final approval. Here are some comparison photos of the old and new designs:
